1931 Hamilton Cushion

Serviced June 2024, polished 14k white gold filled case, smooth bezel, very good dial with honest patina, unworn leather strap, mineral glass crystal, alloy mainspring.

Hamilton produced the Cushion Plain watch starting in 1927 through 1932 using the 987 caliber family of movements. This was the so called "geometric" era of Hamilton watches when their wrist watches were named for their case shapes. The serial number on the barrel bridge is from 1931. The case and bezel on this example are 14k white gold filled and have been hand polished. The center piece of the case is engraved and the bezel is smooth, hence the "plain" in the name. The case back is also in excellent condition. The silver dial has honest patina and the paint is in good condition. The dial appears to be original and was relumed during service. The three hands are blue have also been relumed. This Hamilton Cushion Plain comes ready to wear on an unworn, black leather band with silver tone buckle. The American made Hamilton caliber 987F small seconds movement was serviced June 2024 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 22 minutes per day.

Case - Hand polished 14k white gold filled case and bezel. Some minor scratches on the front of the bezel.

Lugs - No noticeable plate wear. Drilled lugs to make strap changing a snap.

Crystal - Mineral glass crystal.

Hands - Original blue hour, minute, and sub seconds hands with patina. Relumed during service.

Dial - Very good silver original dial with even patina across. Sunken small seconds dial at the 6 o'clock. All the original paint in good condition. Numerals relumed during service.

Band - Unworn, black leather strap with silver toned clasp. 

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 987F, manual wind, 17 jewels. Fully serviced June 2024. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
