Serviced August 2026, original silver dial with 18k gold applied hour marker dots and flush gold markers, hand polished 10k gold filled case, monogrammed stainless steel screw down case back. Unworn brown genuine leather strap, alloy mainspring, NOS high domed acrylic crystal.
Made from 1955 through 1957, the Automatic K-454 is commonly referred to as the Sputnik. The K-454's unique dial with applied gold dots and flush gold markers that align with the lugs is reminiscent of the Soviet satellite that was launched in 1957 that it takes its nick name from. The watch features a Swiss made 661 caliber automatic movement with 17 jewels. The original silver dial is in excellent condition with very light patina evident. The painted Hamilton logo and the automatic and Swiss branding are excellent. The applied hour markers are 18k gold and have been relumed. The hands appear to be original, are in excellent condition with light patina, and have also been relumed. There is plate wear on the edge of the bezel near the crown. The original crown also has plate wear. Fine scratching on the Masonic monogrammed stainless steel screw down caseback. The watch comes ready to wear on a brand new unworn brown genuine leather two piece strap and gold tone hardware. The 661 automatic wind movement was serviced August 2026 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 10 seconds per day.
