1975 Hamilton Auto Date Clermont

Serviced February 2020, day and date at 3 o'clock, Swiss made automatic movement, excellent black dial with applied hour markers and painted minute track. Hand polished gold electroplated case, stainless steel screw down case back, original Hamilton bracelet, NOS acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

Made from 1973 through 1976, the Hamilton Auto Date Clermont comes with a Swiss made (AS) Hamilton caliber 631 automatic movement. This is a high beat movement at 36000 beats per hour. With a beat rate almost double that of most other vintage movements, the white second hand sweeps very smoothly across the dial. The watch features an excellent black dial with gold applied hour markers and yellow and white painted minute track. The day and date window is at 6 o'clock, adding to the outstanding 70's styling. The NOS domed acrylic crystal was installed during service February 2020. The gold electroplated case and bezel has been hand polished and shows some scratching. There are some dings on the reverse edges of the case. There is plate wear, notably on the side of the case near the crown. The stainless steel case back has one scratch but also still has the factory brushing. The signed Hamilton crown shows wear. The bracelet is original to the watch and came with the Auto Date Clermont in the 1975 and 1976 catalog. The clasp is signed. The 631 caliber automatic day/date movement was serviced February 2020 and is running strong and currently performing at +/- 13 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished gold electroplated case. Stainless steel screw down case back has some scratching and still shows the factory brushing. There is some dings and minor plate wear along some of the edges on the reverse side of the case. Plate wear near the crown. The signed crown shows wear.

Lugs - Minor plate wear on the reverse side of the lugs.

Crystal - NOS domed acrylic crystal installed during service February 2020.

Hands - Appear to be original. Extremely light patina.

Dial - Original, excellent dial. Black field, applied hour markers, painted minute markers and track. Paint on the dial is in mint condition.

Bracelet - Original vintage Hamilton bracelet. Stainless steel backs, 10k gold filled caps. The signed clasp shows fine scratching consistent with age.

Movement - Swiss (AS) made Hamilton caliber 631, day/date, automatic, 17 jewels. Fully serviced February 2020. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
