1973 Hamilton Ocean Date

Serviced March 2019, Swiss made manual wind movement, excellent gilt dial with applied hour markers and painted minute track. Quick change day/date. Hand polished 14k gold electroplated case, stainless steel screw down case back, unworn leather strap, acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

Made from 1973 through 1976, the Hamilton Ocean Date comes with a Swiss made (ETA) Hamilton caliber 800 manual wind movement. The watch features a gilt dial with applied hour markers, and a black painted minute track in excellent condition. The black paint for the minute track and on the sweep second had is matte, where the black enamel on the hour and minute hands is a gloss finish. The flat topped acrylic crystal was polished clean and clear of any major defects. The 14k gold electroplated case has been hand polished and shows some scratching. The stainless steel case back has one hairline scratch but shows the factory linear brushing. The crown is signed and does show some signs of wear. The watch comes ready to wear on a brand new black genuine leather two piece strap with gold tone buckle and contrasting stitching. The Swiss made Hamilton caliber 800 manual wind movement was serviced March 2019 and is running strong and currently performing at +/- 20 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 14k gold electroplated case with some scratches. Stainless steel screw down case back with one hairline scratch and factory brushing. The crown is signed with the Hamilton 'H' logo and shows some wear.

Lugs - No visible wear on the reverse side of the lugs. The inside of the lugs show some wear, likely from metal expansion bracelet end links.

Crystal - Flat topped acrylic crystal polished clean and clear.

Hands - Appear to be original with light patina. The hour and minute hands have glass black enamel down the center, framed by gold tone edges. The sweep second hand is painted matte black and is in excellent condition.

Dial - Original, excellent condition dial. Gilt field with applied hour markers. Painted Hamilton "H" logo, painted minute track, and painted 'H' branding. The other minute track is a matte black. The applied markers are accented with matte black paint. Paint on the dial is in mint condition.

Band - Brand new, unworn black genuine leather two piece strap with contracting stitching and gold tone hardware.

Movement - Swiss (ETA) made Hamilton caliber 800, manual winding, 17 jewels. Fully serviced March 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
