1973 Hamilton Auto Cal Sovereign

Serviced January 2019, quick set date, Swiss made automatic movement, mint blue dial with applied hour markers and painted minute track. Factory brushing on front of bezel, hand polished case sides, stainless steel screw down case back, unworn leather strap, signed crown, acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

Made from 1973 through 1976, the Hamilton Auto Cal Soverign comes with a Swiss made (ETA) Hamilton caliber 821 automatic movement. This watch features a mint condition blue dial with gold applied hour markers and white painted minute markers over a yellow track. The date window at 3 o'clock is framed with a gold bezel. The low domed acrylic crystal was polished clean and clear of any major defects. The 14k gold electroplated bezel still has the factory brushing on the front of the bezel. The polished case sides were hand polished. The stainless steel case back show some scratching, but is otherwise in good condition. The two piece brown leather strap is unworn and has contrasting stitching and a gold tone clasp. The watch comes with a Hamilton signed crown with plate wear on the signed side. The 821 caliber automatic movement was serviced January 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 8 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished gold electroplated case. Factory brushing on front, polished case sides. Stainless steel screw down case back has some scratching. There is some dings and minor plate wear along some of the edges of the case.

Lugs - Minor plate wear on the reverse side of the lugs.

Crystal - Low domed acrylic crystal polished clean and clear.

Hands - Appear to be original. Extremely light patina.

Dial - Original, mint condition dial. Blue field, applied hour markers, painted minute markers and track. Paint on the dial is in mint condition.

Band - Unworn brown genuine leather strap with gold tone buckle and contrasting stitching.

Movement - Swiss (ETA) made Hamilton caliber 821, automatic, 17 jewels. Fully serviced January 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
