1972 Hamilton Dateline A-593

Serviced December 2018, Swiss made automatic movement, quick change date, minty sunburst light grey dial with silver and orange applied markers, hand polished stainless steel case and screw down case back, unworn genuine leather strap, NOS acrylic crystal.

Hamilton introduced the Dateline series of watches in 1963. The lineup included automatic as well as manual wind movements, but all models had a calendar complication. The Dateline A-593 model was introduced in 1972 and produced through 1974. It came with a Swiss (ETA) made automatic 822 caliber movement, with the date at the 6 o'clock. The wonderfully radially brushed light grey dial on this example is in minty condition with no visible patina. The applied silver and orange markers are excellent. The paint for the Hamilton logo, selfwinding branding, and minute and second track is also mint. The orange and silver hands are good, with one minor spot of lume missing from the minute hand. The black sweep second hand is excellent. The watch is ready to wear on a brand new, unworn, tan genuine leather strap with contrasting stitching. The Swiss (ETA) made 822 automatic movement was fully serviced December 2018 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 13 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished stainless steel case and screw down case back. Some minor scratching on case and case back.

Lugs - Integrated into the cushion case and in excellent condition with very minor scratching.

Crystal - NOS acrylic crystal installed as part of the full servicing in December 2018.

Hands - Appear to be original with light patina developing. One small spot of missing lume on the minute hand. The lume also appears to be original and no longer glows.

Dial - Radially (sunburst) brushed light grey dial with silver and orange applied markers. Applied Hamilton 'H' logo. Painted minute and second track. Paint on the dial is in excellent condition.

Band - Unworn tan genuine leather strap with contracting stitching and silver tone buckle.

Movement - Swiss made Hamilton automatic caliber 822, 17 jewels. Fully serviced December 2018. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
