1971 Hamilton Day 'n Date 5000

Serviced April 2020, Swiss made automatic movement, day and date window at 3 o'clock, fair silver dial, hand polished one piece stainless steel case, acrylic crystal, stainless expansion bracelet, signed crown, alloy mainspring.

Made for three years from 1971 through 1973, the Hamilton Day 'n Date 5000 watch comes with a Swiss (AS) made automatic 646 caliber movement with day/date complication at 3 o'clock. The day wheel is black type on a white dial, while the date wheel is white on black. The date is quick set by pushing the crown in to advance the date. The silver dial is fair with patina visible. The finish and painted minute marks has faded between the 12 and 1 o'clock, 2 and 3 o'clock, and between the 5 and 6 o'clock markers. The applied silver markers are excellent. The paint for the Hamilton and 'H' logo and automatic script branding is in excellent condition. The original silver hands are good, with patina visible. Most of the lume is missing. The watch is ready to wear on a stainless steel Speidel expansion bracelet. The Swiss (AS) made 17 jewel caliber 646 automatic movement was fully serviced April 2020 and is running strong and currently performing at +/- 14 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished one piece stainless steel case. Some scratching on the bezel and on the back chamfer.

Lugs - In excellent condition with no major defects. Some light scratching.

Crystal - Acrylic crystal polished clean and clear of any major defects.

Hands - Appear to be original with light patina developing. The remaining lume also appears to be original and no longer glows.

Dial - Silver dial. Applied silver tone markers. Painted Hamilton, 'H' logo, and script automatic branding. Painted minute track. The finish and painted minute marks have faded between the 12 and 1 o'clock, 2 and 3 o'clock, and between the 5 and 6 o'clock markers.

Band - Stainless steel Speidel expansion bracelet.

Movement - Swiss (AS) made Hamilton automatic caliber 646, 17 jewels, day/date. Fully serviced April 2020. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
