1966 Hamilton Thin-o-matic Masterpiece

Serviced September 2018, Swiss made automatic movement, excellent sunburst silver dial with gold applied markers, polished 10k gold filled one piece case, monogrammed case back, Speidel expansion bracelet.

Hamilton's Masterpiece line was their awards division during the 1950's and 1960's. This division marketed watches to companies as service awards or presentation watches that could be engraved. The Masterpiece line typically used older or obsolete cases but put different dials on them to differentiate them from the regular, cataloged watches. Who wants to see the same model of watch as their award for years of service for sale down at the local jewelry store anyway?! This Hamilton Masterpiece is a Thin-o-Matic with, as best as I can tell, a T-416 case which was made in 1966. The serial number in the case and the monogramed back with the year are further confirmation this is a 1966 Hamilton. The radially brushed sunburst silver dial on this example is in excellent minty condition. The applied minute track and hour markers are excellent. The paint on the dial is mint. The watch is ready to wear on Speidel expansion bracelet, but looks amazing on leather as well. The 623 Swiss automatic movement was serviced September 2018 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 9 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled one-piece case. Monogramed on the back with "Roadway Express Inc. 20 years 3-4-66 E.J. Sutton". Some small scratches on the back. No visible plate wear.

Lugs - In excellent condition with no visible wear.

Crystal - High domed acrylic crystal polished clean and clear.

Hands - In good condition with very minor patina visible on the sweep second hand.

Dial - Original sunburst silver dial with gold applied markers. Paint on the dial is in excellent condition.

Bracelet - Vintage Speidel expansion bracelet.

Movement - Swiss made Hamilton automatic caliber 623, 17 jewels. Also winds manually. Fully serviced September 2018. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
