1964 Hamilton M 89-4

Serviced March 2019, Swiss made automatic movement, excellent silver dial, tip missing from hour hand, hand polished stainless steel case, acrylic crystal, vintage stainless expansion bracelet, signed crown, alloy mainspring.

Hamilton M-series watches were a sperate line from the regular models and were primarily marketed in the 1960's through catalogs. This particular watch retailed for $89 in 1964, and was the fourth watch at that price, therefor was called the M89-4. The Hamilton M 89-4 in stainless steel was produced in 1964. The watch comes with a Swiss (ETA) made automatic 689 caliber movement and can be hand wound. The silver dial is excellent with some light patina near the 5 o'clock marker. This is not the same dial as can be found in the 1964 Hamilton catalog, but it does appear to be the same case. The applied silver markers and numerals are excellent. The paint for the Hamilton logo, the 'H' logo, and automatic branding is excellent. The original silver hands show some light patina. The tip of the hour hand is missing. The watch is ready to wear on a vintage stainless steel Speidel expansion bracelet. The Swiss (ETA) made 17 jewel caliber 689 automatic movement was fully serviced Marh 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 27 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished steel one piece case. Some scratching on the bezel and on the case back. Signed Hamilton crown.

Lugs - Lugs are in excellent condition with no major defects. Some light scratching.

Crystal - Acrylic crystal polished clean and clear of any major defects.

Hands - Appear to be original with light patina developing. The tip of the hour hand appears to have been broken off.

Dial - Excellent silver dial. Light patina near the 5 o'clock marker, Applied silver tone markers and numerals. Painted Hamilton and automatic branding. Pearlized minute track.

Bracelet - Vintage stainless steel Speidel expansion bracelet. Some scratching consistent with age.

Movement - Swiss (ETA) made Hamilton automatic caliber 689, 17 jewels, hand winds. Fully serviced March 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
