1962 Hamilton M79-2

1962 Hamilton M79-2

Vintage Hamilton watch, fully serviced November 2018, Swiss made manual wind movement, excellent silver dial with silvered applies markers and gold numeral. Comes on unworn croc print leather strap. NOS dial, hands, case, acrylic crystal and signed crown.

Hamilton M-series watches were a sperate line from the regular models and were primarily marketed in the 1960's through catalogs. This particular watch retailed for $79 in 1962, and was the second watch at that price, therefor was called the M79-2. The case, signed crown, dial, and all three hands on this example appear to be New Old Stock (NOS). As received, the watch parts came on a dial mount from the factory. I sourced a genuine Swiss made Hamilton caliber 688 manual wind movement which would have come with the M79-2 in 1962. The radially finished silver dial on this example is in excellent NOS condition with a very small blemish near the post. The painted Hamilton logo is mint. The silver applied markers and minute track is mint, as are the gold applied numerals. The watch is ready to wear on a genuine leather, croc print strap with gold tone buckle. The Swiss made 688 manual wind movement was serviced November 2018 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 19 seconds per day.
