1961 Hamilton Stormking VII Masterpiece

Serviced March 2019, caliber 736 manual wind movement, silver dial with little to no patina, gold markers, polished 10k gold filled one piece case, monogrammed case back, unworn leather strap, acrylic crystal, allow mainspring, signed Hamilton crown.

Hamilton's Masterpiece line was their awards division during the 1950's and 1960's. This division marketed watches to companies as service awards or presentation watches that could be engraved. The Masterpiece line typically used existing cases but put different dials on them to differentiate them from the regular, cataloged watches. This watch is using the Stormking VII case and dial, with the addition of "Masterpiece" printed on the dial. Hamilton produced the Stormking VII for just two years beginning in 1961. The radially brushed silver dial on this example is in good condition with little to no visible patina. The pearlized minute track and hour markers are in excellent shape. The painted Hamilton logo and Masterpiece branding is excellent. The hand have patina developing. The watch is ready to wear on an unworn brown leather croc print two piece strap with gold tone buckle. The 736 manual wind movement was serviced March 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 26 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled single piece case. There is no noticeable plate wear and some scratching on the bezel. Case back is monogrammed, "Norwalk Truck Lines. Raymond Hoffman. 10 Year. No Accident" with and surprisingly detailed image of a Norwalk truck.

Lugs - In excellent condition with little to no visible plate wear.

Crystal - Domed acrylic crystal polished clean and clear of any major defects.

Hands - Appear to be original. Light patina.

Dial - Original silver dial with applied gold markers. Little to no visible patina. Paint on the dial is in excellent condition. Pearlized minute track.

Band - Brand new, unworn brown croc print leather strap with gold tone buckle.

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 736, manual wind, 17 jewels. Fully serviced March 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
