1961 Hamilton Boatswain II

1961 Hamilton Boatswain II

Serviced September 2018, good embossed silver dial with honest patina, polished 10k rolled gold case, stainless steel back, vintage 10k GF gold expansion bracelet, Omega replacement crown.

Hamilton produced the Boatswain II from 1961 through 1964. The dial on this example is silver with honest, even patina across the dial. The track behind the gold applied numerals is embossed, sometimes referred to as "record finish" as the concentric grooves resemble the grooves in vinyl records. The paint for the Hamilton logo is in mint condition. The paint for the minute track does have some fading evident between the 1 and 2, otherwise is in great shape. The Swiss made caliber 678 movement was serviced September 2018 and is running strong and currently performing at +/- 32 seconds per day.

Size:

33.5mm bezel
9mm Tall
17.6mm Lug to Lug
38mm Tip to Tip

Case - Hand polished 10k rolled gold bezel and stainless steel case back. The case back is marked 'waterproof' (which it of course, is not). Some minor scratches on the bezel. The crown is a Omega signed replacement and is not original.

Lugs - Some minor scratching but no obvious gold plate wear on the lugs.

Crystal - High domed acrylic crystal polished clean and clear.

Hands - Appear to be original. Little to no patina visible.

Dial - Silver dial, gold applied numerals, embossed. Patina across the dial. The paint for the Hamilton logo is in mint condition, some fading paint on the minute track.

Bracelet - Vintage 10k gold filled Speildel expansion bracelet with stainless steel bottom caps. There is plate wear on the underside of the band, consistent with desk wear.

Movement - Swiss made caliber 678, manual wind, 17 jewels. The movement was fully serviced September 2018. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
