1960 Hamilton Thin-o-Matic T-403

1960 Hamilton Thin-o-Matic T-403

Serviced April 2019, popularly known as the Shark Fin, hand polished 10k gold filled asymmetrical case, good two town dial with patina, lightly worn leather band with Hamilton signed buckle, acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

Hamilton began producing the Thin-o-Matic line in 1959 using Swiss made micro rotor movements. These movements allowed Hamilton to produce high quality automatic watches as well as capitalize on the prevailing trend of thin watch cases. Hamilton also began introducing asymmetrical models around this time. The Thin-o-Matic T-403 combines both an asymmetrical case, known popularly as the Shark Fin, with a Swiss made micro rotor automatic movement. The dial on this example is good with patina across the two town dial. It features applied markers from 6 to 12, and painted markers at 1 through 5. The black hands appear to be original with little to no patina. The 10k gold filled one piece case has some scratching. The watch comes ready to wear on a lightly worn brown genuine leather strap with a Hamilton signed gold toned buckle. The 663 automatic micro rotor movement was serviced April 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 39 seconds per day.
