1957 Hamilton Jason

Serviced December 2019, Swiss made manual wind movement, good black dial, hand polished stainless steel case, NOS acrylic crystal, unworn genuine leather strap, alloy mainspring.

Produced for just two years in 1957 and 1958, the Hamilton Jason comes with a Swiss (ETA) made manual wind 671 caliber movement. The black dial is good with honest patina across the entire dial. The applied numeral and hour markers are very good, as is the pearlized minute track. The paint for the curved Hamilton branding is shows signs of fading in a few spots. It appears that the dial is original and has not been refinished. I was unable to find a black dial version of the Jason in any of the vintage Hamilton catalogs, but the dial layout and design, as well as the caliber 671 movement are consistent with the model at the time. It is not uncommon for Hamilton models to have been uncatalogued around this time. The silver hands show some light patina with the patinaed lume still present. The watch is ready to wear on a black genuine leather croc print two piece strap with silver toned buckle. The Swiss (ETA) made 17 jewel caliber 671 manual movement was fully serviced December 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 28 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished stainless steel case and screw down case back. Some scratching on the bezel and on the case back. A small ding on the edge of the bezel near the 8 o'clock lug.

Lugs - Lugs are in excellent condition with no major defects. Some light scratching.

Crystal - NOS domed acrylic crystal installed during service in December 2019.

Hands - Appear to be original with light patina developing. Lume is present but no longer glows.

Dial - Good black dial. Patina across the dial, applied silver tone numeral, hour markers, and pearlized minute track. Painted Hamilton branding showing fading in some spots.

Band - Unworn, black genuine leather croc print strap with silver toned clasp.

Movement - Swiss (ETA) made Hamilton manual wind caliber 671, 17 jewels. Fully serviced December 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
