1956 Hamilton Ward

1956 Hamilton Ward

Serviced May 2020, excellent original white dial with black painted numbers and dots. Hand polished 10k gold filled case, stainless steel case back, genuine leather unworn strap, NOS acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

Produced from 1955 through 1957, the Ward was offered with two dial variants. When the Ward was first introduced in 1955, it came with black painted numerals and gold dots. In the 1956 and 1957 catalogs, Hamilton offered the Ward with painted black numerals and dots, indicating this example was manufactured in 1956 or 1957. The Ward features an American made 747 caliber manual mind movement with 17 jewels. The original matte white dial is in excellent condition. The paint for the minute track, the sub seconds dial, the Hamilton logo, and for the aforementioned numerals and dots is in minty condition. There is very minor patina evident across the dial. A NOS acrylic crystal was installed during service May 2020. The hand polished 10k gold filled case shows some fine scratching and plate wear on the bezel side of the lugs. The watch comes ready to wear on an unworn genuine leather strap with gold tone hardware. The 747 manual wind movement was serviced May 2020 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 25 seconds per day.
