1956 Hamilton Accumatic II-B

Serviced January 2020, Illinois brand Swiss made automatic wind movement, power reserve meter, good white dial with applied numerals, hour markers, and pearlized seconds track. Radium burns at 7:07. Hand polished 10k rolled gold bezel, stainless steel screw down case back, unworn leather croc print strap with gold tone buckle, NOS domed acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

The Hamilton Watch Company acquired the Illinois Watch company in the late 1920's. Hamilton used the Illinois brand to introduce Swiss movements into their lineup, including the first automatic movements, in the 1950's. As the watch market changed and using Swiss movements and the complications they utilized was clearly a hit, Hamilton shuttered the Illinois brand and brought everything back under just the Hamilton brand name. The Hamilton Accumatic II-B was based off of the Hamilton Accumatic II and was likely only produced in 1956 to use up remaining Illinois movements. This watch comes with a Swiss made Illinois automatic wind movement based of an ETA 1256. The movement features a unique power reserve complication at 12 o'clock. The watch features a good white original dial with applied gold numerals, hour markers, and pearlized minute track. There is honest patina across the dial with radium burns where the hands stopped at 7:06 at some point in the watch's history. The hands appear to be original with patina. The paint for the curved 'Hamilton' and 'Automatic' is excellent. A NOS domed acrylic crystal was installed during the full service January 2020. The 10k rolled gold bezel has been hand polished and shows minor scratching. The screw down stainless steel case back has some scratching consistent with age. The watch comes ready to wear on an unworn brown genuine leather croc print strap with gold tone buckle. The Illinois automatic wind movement was serviced January 2020 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 18 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k rolled gold bezel, stainless steel screw down case back. Scratching evident.

Lugs - Some plate wear evident on the reverse tips of the lugs.

Crystal - NOS domed acrylic crystal installed during service January 2020.

Hands - Appear to be original with patina.

Dial - Original, good condition dial. White dial with applied gold numerals, hour markers, and seconds track pearlized dots. Patina evident across the dial. Some blemishes near the post.

Band - Unworn genuine leather brown croc print strap with gold tone buckle.

Movement - Swiss made Illinois movement, automatic, 17 jewels, power reserve meter. Fully serviced January 2020. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
