1955 Hamilton Baxter

Serviced August 2019, American made manual wind movement, good sterling silver dial with 18k gold applied hour dots and numerals. Hand polished 10k gold filled bezel, stainless steel case back, vintage Baume & Mercier blue croc strap with gold tone buckle, NOS acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

Made from 1955 through 1957, the Hamilton Baxter was a larger watch for the time. This watch comes with an American made Hamilton caliber 747 manual wind movement. The watch features a good sterling silver dial with applied 18k gold numerals and dots. The dial has flecked patina, notably near the sub seconds dial at the 6 o'clock. A NOS acrylic crystal was installed during the full service August 2019. The 10k gold filled bezel has been hand polished and shows some minor scratching. There is plate wear on the reverse side of the lugs. The stainless steel case back has some minor scratching consistent with age. The watch comes ready to wear on a vintage Baume & Mercier two piece blue strap with gold tone buckle. The 747 caliber manual wind movement was serviced August 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 23 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled bezel, stainless steel case back. Fine scratching evident.

Lugs - Plate wear evident on the reverse edges of the lugs.

Crystal - NOS acrylic crystal installed during service.

Hands - Appear to be original with little to no patina.

Dial - Original, good condition dial. Sterling silver dial with applied 18k gold numerals and dots. Patina evident, notably near the sub seconds dial.

Band - Used, vintage blue croc two piece Baume & Mercier strap.

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 747, manual, 17 jewels. Fully serviced August 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
