1954 Hamilton Standwick

Serviced July 2019, good original two tone silver dial with 14k gold applied numerals and markers, polished 10k gold filled bezel and engraved case back. Unworn brown genuine calf strap, alloy mainspring, acrylic crystal.

Made between 1945 and 1956, the Standwick features an American made 748 caliber manual mind movement with 18 jewels. The Standwick is unique in Hamilton's vintage lineup since it is a rectangular watch with a center sweep seconds hand. Most rectangular watches of this era came with sub seconds. The serial number on the movement (CY225378) indicates that it was made in 1954. The original two tone silver dial has patina across the dial, with some 'spidering'. The painted hour track border and Hamilton logo are excellent. The applied hour markers and numerals are gold. The hands appear to be original and are in good condition with little to no patina. There is minor plate wear on the tips of some of the lugs. The hand polished 10k gold filled case curves in on all four edges, giving the watch even more character. The case back is engraved. The watch comes ready to wear on a vintage style, unworn genuine calf two piece strap with gold tone buckle. The 748 manual wind movement was serviced July 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 33 seconds per day.

Lugs - Minor plate wear visible on the tip of the lower right lug.

Crystal - Acrylic crystal polished clean and clear during service.

Hands - Appear to be original with little to no patina.

Dial - Original two tone silver dial with 14k applied gold numerals and markers. Patina evident across the dial with spidering. Paint on the dial is in excellent condition.

Band -Unworn brown genuine calf two piece strap with gold tone buckle.

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 748, manual wind, 18 jewels. Serviced July 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
