1953 Hamilton Rodney

Serviced June 2020, two tone quadrant dial, hand polished 10k gold filled case and bezel, unworn worn leather strap, acrylic crystal, signed crown, alloy mainspring.

Made for 12 years from 1953 through 1964, the Rodney was a popular watch, especially as a presentation watch due to the larger size and smooth case back. Over the years, the Rodney came with different caliber movements and was available in several different dial options, including the two toned quadrant dial on this particular watch. This Rodney comes with a manual wind American made Hamilton caliber 748 movement with 18 jewels and a center sweep second hand. The 748 movement was used in the early production years of the Rodney, and the serial number on the barrel bridge indicates that it was completed in 1953. The silver and white two tone dial is in very good condition with a few minor scratches visible. The painted cross hairs and Hamilton logo are in excellent condition, as is the pearlized minute track. The hands appear to be original with light patina. The 10k gold filled case and bezel are hand polished. The bezel has some scratching. The watch comes ready to wear on a unworn blanck genuine leather croc print strap with gold tone buckle. The 748 manual wind movement was serviced June 2020 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 32 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled bezel and case back. There is no visible plate wear, but some scratching on the bezel. Hamilton signed crown.

Lugs - Minor scratches on the dial side of the lugs, some plate wear on the inside tips of the lugs.

Crystal - Polished acrylic crystal.

Hands - Appear to be original. Light patina visible.

Dial - Two tone silver and white dial with applied gold markers and pearlized minute track. Paint on the dial is in mint condition. Some scratching on the dial.

Band - Unworn black genuine leather croc print two piece strap with gold tone buckle.

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 748, manual wind, 18 jewels, center sweep seconds. Fully serviced June 2020. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
