1953 Hamilton Rodney

Serviced September 2019, two tone quadrant dial, hand polished 10k gold filled case and bezel, unworn genuine leather strap, acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring, monogrammed case back.

Made for 12 years from 1953 through 1964, the Rodney was a popular watch, especially as a presentation watch due to the larger size and smooth case back. Over the years, the Rodney came with different caliber movements and was available in several different dial options, including the two toned quadrant dial on this watch. This particular Rodney comes with a manual wind American made Hamilton caliber 748 movement with 18 jewels and a center sweep second hand. The serial number stamped on the movement (CY172954) is from 1953. The silver and white two tone dial is in good condition with some patina. The painted cross hairs and Hamilton logo are in excellent condition, as is the pearlized minute track. The hands appear to be original with light patina. The 10k gold filled case and bezel are hand polished with some scratching and a monogrammed case back. The watch comes ready to wear on an unworn genuine leather brown croc print strap. The 748 manual wind movement was serviced September 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 43 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled bezel and case. There is no visible plate wear, but some scratching on the bezel and case back. The case back is monogrammed:

Lugs - Minor scratches on the dial side of the lugs, no plate wear on the tips.

Crystal - Polished domed acrylic crystal.

Hands - Appear to be original with light patina.

Dial - Two tone silver and white dial with applied gold markers and pearlized minute track. Light patina across the dial. Paint on the dial is in mint condition.

Strap - Unworn genuine leather brown two piece strap with croc print and gold tone buckle.

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 748, manual wind, 18 jewels, center sweep seconds. Fully serviced September 2019. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
