1953 Hamilton Neilsen

Serviced August 2018, patinaed sterling silver dial, polished 10k gold filled case, gold tone Speidel expansion bracelet, worn through near crown on the case back.

Hamilton produced the Neilsen in 1953 and 1954. While small by today's standards, this watch represents a time when men's watches actually began to increase in size. The brushed sterling silver dial is original and has solid 18k gold applied numerals and what appear to be original hands, including the small second hand in the sunken dial at 6 o'clock. The paint for the minute and second track is in good condition. The movement was serviced Augus 2018 and is running well and currently running +/- 18 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled. On the case back, under the crown, the case has been worn through as shown in the pictures.

Lugs - There is some wear through on the top of one of the lugs. Drilled lug holes to make changing the strap very easy.

Crystal - NOS high domed acrylic crystal installed as part of the full service completed August 2018.

Hands - In great shape.

Dial - Sterling silver dial, 18k solid gold applied numerals. Honest patina on the dial.

Band - Vintage Speidel expansion bracelet.

Movement - Hamilton caliber 747, manual wind. Serviced August 2018. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
