1940 Hamilton Essex

1940 Hamilton Essex

Serviced August 2025, good coral dial with rhodium plated 18k gold numeral markers, hand polished 10k coral gold (rose gold) filled case, unworn genuine leather strap, NOS mineral glass crystal, alloy mainspring, monogrammed case back.

Hamilton produced the coral gold Essex, now known more commonly as rose gold, from 1940 through 1941. The coral dial on this watch is in good condition with honest patina across the dial. The Arabic numerals are solid 18k gold and are rhodium plated to appear silver. The paint for the minute track, sub seconds dial, and Hamilton logo is excellent. The rhodium plated original hands have little to no patina. There is some plate wear on the fixed wire lugs. The 10k coral (rose) gold case has been hand polished with fine scratching. The case back is monogrammed. This Hamilton Essex comes ready to wear on an unworn black genuine leather two piece strap with rose gold tone buckle. The American made 980 small seconds movement was serviced August 2025 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 25 seconds per day.
