1940 Hamilton Emerson

Serviced December 2018, excellent silver dial with gold applied markers, extremely light flecked patina near the post, polished 10k gold filled case, 10k gold filled Speidel expansion bracelet, NOS acrylic crystal, NOS alloy mainspring.

Introduced in 1940, the Emerson's production was only interrupted during WWII as Hamilton switched to wartime production. This Hamilton Emerson comes with an American made, manual wind caliber 980 movement. The watch has hooded lugs, giving the time piece a unique, almost art deco look. The watch features a sterling silver dial with 18k gold applied numerals. The dial is in excellent condition with a very small spot of patina just below the post. The paint for the Hamilton logo, sub seconds track, and minute track is in mint condition. The case back is monogrammed with the text, "To John from Gert & Janet". The 980 manual movement was serviced December 2018 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 19 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled case. Some very fine scratches on the bezel. Some plate wear on the corners on the case back. Case back is monogrammed "To John from Gert & Janet".

Lugs - No visible wear on the tips of the hooded, art-deco style lugs.

Crystal - NOS acrylic crystal installed December 2018 as part of the full servicing.

Hands - Appear to be original with light patina.

Dial - Original silver dial with gold applied markers. Small spot of patina. Paint on the dial is in mint condition.

Bracelet - 10k gold filled caps, stainless steel back, Speidel expansion bracelet. Bracelet has all the links and will likely need to be sized down. The Emerson does look great on a leather two piece strap as well.

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 980, manual, 17 jewels. NOS "lifetime" alloy mainspring installed during service. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
