Hamilton produced the coral gold Essex, now known more commonly as rose gold, from 1940 through 1941. The coral dial on this watch is in excellent condition with very minor patina evident. The Arabic numerals are solid 18k gold and are rhodium plated to appear silver. The paint for the minute track, sub seconds dial, and Hamilton logo is excellent. The rhodium plated original hands show signs of patina. There is some plate wear on the fixed wire lugs. This Hamilton Essex comes ready to wear on an unworn black genuine leather two piece strap with rose gold tone buckle. The American made 980 small seconds movement was serviced January 2024 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 15 seconds per day.
