1927 Hamilton Square Cut Corner Engraved
1927 Hamilton Square Cut Corner Engraved
Serviced February 2019, polished 14k white gold filled factory engraved case and bezel, good dial with honest patina, unworn leather strap, NOS mineral glass crystal, alloy mainspring.
Hamilton produced the Square Cut Corner Engraved watch starting in 1927 through 1929 using the 987 caliber movement. This was the so called "geometric" era of Hamilton watches when their wrist watches were named based on their case shapes. The serial number on the barrel bridge is from July 1927. The case and bezel on this example are 14k white gold filled and have been hand polished. As the name would suggest, the factory engraving is in excellent shape. The case back is also in excellent condition. The silver dial has honest, even patina and the paint is in excellent condition. The dial appears to be original. The three hands are blue and the lume has long since disintegrated. This Hamilton Square Cut Corner Engraved comes ready to wear on a new, never worn, black leather band with silver tone buckle and contrasting stitching. The 987 small seconds movement was serviced February 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 48 seconds per day.
