Made from 1959 through 1961, the Thor is one of Hamilton's asymmetrical-case models from the late 1950s, a period when the company was pushing into bolder, more sculptural watch design. It runs on the caliber 770, a 22-jewel manual wind movement that Hamilton used across a number of its better domestic models during this era. The Thor came in both 10K yellow and 10K white Gold Filled cases, with the case and dial shapes sharing that same asymmetrical geometry. Applied gold numerals and markers, specified as 14K gold, appear at the 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 positions.
Dial condition is the first thing worth scrutinizing on a Thor.
